The original concept of trade was only the exchange of goods or service or both between two persons. As times progressed a medium of exchange was introduced in the form of currency. Exchange of goods took a back seat in the market and buying and selling of goods and service started. Every country produced their own currency and which was the managed by the government.

Since the early 1900as there have been many changes in the trading world. The stock market originated which is integral to stock exchange. People are able to buy and sell shares of corporations within the stock exchange. Back when stock trading occurred, one had to be physically to make the transaction.

To thrive in the share market one should develop abilities related to trading such as learning to day trade. You may develop these skills through the act of actually doing it but you could cut into your dividends while developing this experience on your own. If you make any mistakes while trading, you may have such great losses that you are unable to continue.

Being one of the most complex professions, your skills should be devloped by observing and learning from experts. Oneas chance of increasing profits will multiply as more abilities are inherited. Expert advice can be purchased from agents who will be crucial during trading in the market. For just a small amount of money, one may begin.

As stock trading became more dominate in society, the trading forms began to evolve. Paper share certificates were done away with for online documents. Due to worldwide access to the web, online option trading has become an extremely popular form of trading which can be done from the convenience of home or office.

As stock trading continued to develop, people have learned the potential money making opportunities that exist in trading, and began the day trading. They were cognizant of the need to provide option trading strategies, and started hiring experts to give advice for more profitable trading. To help in a profitable return to your day trading in this complex profession, one can begin a trading account with one of many brokerages where they can gain helpful tips for free.

Thanks to the internet connectivity one can trade on international markets irrespective of his physical presence in those countries. Trading in the international market is not an easy task keeping in mind its liquid and complex nature and the prevailing challenges in the market. Since every thing is fair in love and war, this is applicable to share trading also. Many a times there is possibility of getting misled by some broker tricks resulting in heavy loss.

If professional advice is not available to you, a subscription to your cell phone can provide tips and tricks to the market. Trading in the stock market with its ever changing nature is not easy, but if you are savvy enough to handle all the stress you will come face to face with, you can produce great wealth in this line of work.

The NASDAQ though we know it as an exchange is not an exchange, and works like an automated mechanism where buyers and sellers can meet. The NYSE works on the system called double auctions where in the highest bidding buyer competes with other buyers and the lowest bidding seller bids against other sellers.NASDAQ though not very old has give tough competition to NYSE.The technology focus has helped NASDAQ some inherent strengths.

Now for NASDAQ the auction method does not work, it is like a series of dealers which are selling stocks and each dealer has some sort of inventory of stocks as well as cash. Now NASDAQ is completely automated so going by above analogy you do not visit each dealer shop instead the computer system visits the store of each dealer and checks what prices and how much shares does each dealer have to satisfy an order.

As an example I will show how a limit order works and how a market order works. Limit means that you impose a limit on the price you are willing to pay for the stock. In the market order you are willing to pay any price which is currently in the market. For example if you need to buy 1000 shares then the dealer will give 500 shares at a price you quoted but the next 500 shares you will get at a price which can be anything based on the price the dealer procures the additional shares for you.

NASDAQ has a way of providing you with the bid offer, ask size and size of each offer by way of SOES which is the Small Order Execution System. A broker who helps create a market for buyers and sellers is known as the market maker.

In conclusion, NASDAQ seems to favor the small investor like you and me for trading and that is all that matters in the stock trading arena. However there are other exchnages which can help really really small investor with special deals and cash only options like the American Exchange.

If you need to trade in penny stocks then what you need is trading in OTCBB. But be careful as penny stock trading is very risky and volatile.

For the many non-professional stock traders who want to invest in worthwhile trades, online stock trading has become the trend. Because of the many sites offering guides and training, trading online is easier for new investors. Learn more about online stock trading by signing up to an online stock trading firm.

Online stock trading education starts with an online brokerage firm that offers you easy start-up account registration. There are many sites that offer free registration, among other incentives such as online stock market simulator, free stock pick and more.

Most of these sites also train you to use the tools of online stock trading. Along the same vein, these sites also offer integrated services by which you can keep track of your stock investments, as well as stock market information.

Online firms also provide support for beginners and non-professional online stock traders as they learn more about the trading, as well as in developing their own trading strategies.

Information in terms of real-time stock quotes, free stock market newsletters and free stock pick options are also provided as added incentives for beginners to keep them informed of the current trends and shifts in the stock market. Other financial and market online news sites may also offer information about the stock market, and specifics stocks and options you may be looking to buy, free stock pick and more.

Go for sites that offer the best ways get firsthand information from the market. Other than online brokerage sites that offer information services on stock trading, there are sites that specifically watch the stock market and produce information for stock traders, firms and non-professionals like you. These sites offer stock pick developments, free stock pick information and reports, as well as streaming of stock quote data and after hours stock quote reports, and other trading information.

However, signing up with any online stock trading site can have its disadvantages. Trading stocks online is not as instantaneous as it is on the floor. There is a lag time (that can be up to twenty-four hours!) that occurs from the moment you make a buy offer, till that offer is closed. So, if the stock you’re interested moves at a faster pace, you’d be at a loss as to developing your stock options. This is because the internet can’t duplicate is the market hours, no matter how fast, or how advanced your online stock trading firm’s electronic communication network is.

You can avoid this by keeping yourself well informed on stock quote reports, direct investment information and stock analysis data, and free stock pick information. Information is an effective tool to learn in online stock trading, so be sure to keep a pulse on what’s happening so you can make adjustments to you online stock trading.

Day trading is one of the many possible ways to profit by buying and selling stocks. It uses the volatile nature of the market in a single day. Since the current market is seeing some of the widest daily swings since the late 1990s, it’s a great market for day traders!

Day trading can use short selling to profit from stocks even if indicators say that the prices are dropping in the near future. In every case, day traders will be working through brokers, and they’ll have to watch two major indicators. These indicators are the TDISC and the NDIX. At the beginning of a given trading day, these indicators will tell you a lot about what’s going on in several exchanges. They’re sensitive to volatile markets. When markets are going down, the TDISC drops by more than two thousand ticks in a very short time. When markets are rising, the NDIX increases by the same in under a half hour of opening.

The rapid fluctuations that can happen over the course of a single day are what day traders use to make their money. They have to buy and sell quickly. That’s why day trading is both a great way to make a big profit and a fast way to lose it all. You’re never buying for the long term, so it can be tempting to buy lots and skip researching. You might get lucky trying this, but most of the time it doesn’t work.

Remember that day trading isn’t a passive income source like some other methods. It’s a job! If you’re going to get into day trading, take a good Internet course or seminar, and make sure you know everything you need to get started.

One thing you’ll need is a brokerage account, since one of the most important things in day trading is being able to short sell. Short selling is when you borrow stock from your broker and sell it right away, planning to buy another share at a lower price to give back when it comes due. You profit if the stock prices drop. If you time things correctly and read the market correctly, this works out well for you.

The opposite of short selling is buying or borrowing a share of stock at one price and selling it the same day for a higher price.

Day trading means you’re going to need good observational skills and incredible nerves. You also have to be willing to have a short memory. That’s so that you can stare losses in the face without stressing out or going into a panic.

It is definitely possible to do day trading from home if you use the right programs and have the right tutorials. You’ll need to be sure that you have a plan for executing your trades, and that you do them before the last half hour of the trading day for the market.

Day trading is an excellent way to make good money, but if you've heard it's easy or a form of passive income, you've heard wrong. You need to put some work into it.

by Sam Lockwood

Day trading is an excellent way to make good money, but if you’ve heard it’s easy or a form of passive income, you’ve heard wrong. You need to put some work into it.

Day trading stocks and commodities is really a highly lucrative job. Just like a regular job, it needs you to have a number of traits in order to succeed, as well as a number of firmly ingrained habits.

The first thing you need is a great sense of time. Anyone who has trouble getting up first thing in the morning or needs to jumpstart with that first cup of coffee will only be miserable day trading. That’s because the best time to figure out what you’ll be doing on the market on a particular day is right before the opening bell. That happens at nine am in New York City – six am in California and five am in Hawaii and Alaska. You can’t just be an early riser, though. You also have to have an excellent internal scheduling system and clock.

The second necessary habit is having good quantitative thinking skills. Working on hunches will allow you to make or lose money in day trading. You need to be able to read and understand the numbers without thinking about them if you want to make good decisions. You have to be able to convert and analyze the numbers in your head carefully, so you’ll be able to tell if something is a blip or a lasting trend, and you have to be able to act accordingly.

I should point out that you don’t have to be a mathematician to do this. You can learn how to analyze the numbers correctly, even if you’re not fond of math. There are quite a few numerical skills that can turn into second nature, as long as you get well into the game.

Habit number three is maintaining good observational skills, being incredibly patient, and learning to forget. This can be pretty hard, since you have to keep yourself from feeling let down when you don’t catch a stock at its top, or when you lose money on a short sale that never turns up. Don’t get caught up in either your wins or your losses, or you’ll lose focus and money.

Dedicated research is habit number four. You won’t have to consume accounting statements the way someone in long term conventional investing does, but you have to constantly be getting new data and analysis. You also have to be proactive about your buying and selling, and make fast, accurate judgments, then act on them just as quickly. The only way to make the correct decision is to have the right research. Just don’t let it paralyze you.

Remember that you don’t actually have to analyze most of this data or do most of this research. That’s because the best traders have access to plenty of tools, including a number of different data services and research tools.

If you’re interested in starting in day trading as a career, you’ll have to get the right support, too. You need a good broker, and some other investors who are willing to help you use leverage on the market. Remember that what you’re doing is work, and that you need to have focus and a strong will, as well as being smart, to make it work.

If you’ve got all these skills and can develop these habits, day trading could be a great way to make a fantastic income. This is a job you can call fun honestly, and it can be pretty enriching, too.

by Karielle Samstad

Years ago, the forex market was available only to long-term investors, banks and people who had great capitals. The trading transactions were made through an agent or voice broker who kept the clients informed on what was happening. Later on, this method was replaced by computerized automated systems. This was the early form of a forex trading strategy.

A forex trading strategy has two main elements:

1) Technical Analysis.

The technical analysis is based on charts and it observes the market movements using a mathematical formula. The traders learn about announcements and news on economics that may impact the forex markets. Its fundamental side is helpful in proper identification of what should be done and what should not.

The technical analysis is helpful in determining the areas of resistance and support due to its use of chart indicators. It reveals where the price reverses, where it stops or where it has no change. A preferred method to calculate the levels of resistance and support due to its accuracy is Fibonacci, which is a sequential number form and its proportions are found in nature such as sunflower seeds, and pineapple rinds.

If the Fibonacci numbers are put next to each other, the percentage ratios are obtained and they can be plotted on the chart. The good news is that the charting forex software is able to do the Fibonacci sequence for you. As you move along the charts, the key areas of resistance and support are potentially revealed to you. The Fibonacci sequence combined with proper indicators can show the strength and momentum of the latest market condition and it helps you create a strategy that can be profitable to you. And since history repeats itself, what has happened before in the forex market can still happen in the future.

2) Fundamental Analysis.

There are figures every day that are disseminated to reveal some economic circumstances of a particular country. These events can have unpredictable effects on the forex market. The impact will depend on the previous data and the figures implications. A very good advice for beginners and even for veterans is to stay away from the market when certain announcements and events take place.

Forex trading profits are being made almost similar to a traditional business. The procedure is very simple. You are going to buy something at a lower price then sell it at a higher price. The only difference is that in forex trading this can be reversible.

It is a simple process. A trade is being placed either in the sell or buy categories. Then the base currency will automatically buy or sell its opposite currency in pairs. The price will lively change every second. For instance, you purchase the GBP/USD pair. It means that you have purchased the pound currency and sold the dollar currency. You want a rise on the pounds value which will later on have a higher price when you resell it in the forex market. That would make a profit on the value difference.

If the brokers allow you to have 200:1 capital leverage, then you can possibly control a lot of money than what you really have. This is because you have bought one currency and sold the other. This way your capital can stay unmoved. The only crucial part which should be considered are the proportions which can be either gained or lost whenever changes in currency pair values occurs.

President Bush has been on the TV a lot lately. Too late for him to go down in history as a good president, but we will give him credit for trying. The Pres. has assured us all that we can grow our economy by spending more money. He even sent us each a few hundred to help us do that. One has to wonder if that was a set up for what was to come.

Next came the BIG bailouts for the banks and boys on Wall Street. Hey, where do we apply for some of that 700 Billion dollar pie? Well, don’t hold your breath on that one (in a moment we will show you how to cash in on the bail out actions with simple mini-dow index trading)!

Let’s see, if you are already in debt up to your ears – like the US government is, how is sending out free money going to stimulate the economy? And, how is that going to help the US government?

OH, don’t forget our friends over at the FED. The Reserve! The agency that is owned by the bankers. That masquerades around like they are part of the government. What many folks still don’t know is that they all pulled a fast one on us by sticking that word Federal in front of their name. The same thing the guy at Federal Express did when starting his company.

Frederick W. Smith founded FedEx. I clearly remember years ago when he was on 60 Minutes, he said that by the time folks figured out that he was not part of the government his company was already well on it’s way to success! Can’t blame his reasoning? What a PLAN! IT WORKED for the FED why not FedEx too?

Let’s quote right from the FedEx web site:

“Federal Express was so-named due to the patriotic meaning associated with the word “Federal,” which suggested an interest in nationwide economic activity. At that time, Smith hoped to obtain a contract with the Federal Reserve Bank and, although the proposal was denied, he believed the name was a particularly good one for attracting public attention and maintaining name recognition.”

I’m sure Smith did want a relationship with the Federal Reserve – who wouldn’t! These guys have the legalized right to print money! Think about it. It does not matter if it is a $1 bill or a $100 bill, it cost them about the same to make it (a few cents each). Then they “LOAN” that money at full face value to the US government. Full face value PLUS INTEREST! So now you know where the national debt comes from. We now owe that money – Plus Interest – to the FED. A private corporation controlled by international bankers.

So if you are thinking that Bush’s plan to grow the economy by handing out $100 bills won’t cost anything – Think Again! Where is that money going to come from? That’s right – the good ol boys at the FED. These mystical folks seem to be able to pull money out of thin air! Just think, with today’s high-tech world, the FED can just punch a button on a computer somewhere and release new funds to the world. Most of which never represents new bills being printed, but just credit in some bank or financial institutions account. Electronic numbers moving through nanoseconds of time and space.

Not only does the FED create money, they also have the ability to set their own interest rate!

- The Fed’s Open Market Committee (FOMC), announces their interest rate decisions. This is NOT the interest rate that you and I can get money for, (why don’t we all meet at the Fed Discount Window – wherever that is) but what the BIG boys who keep the whole world flowing receive. They in turn pump up the volume and pass the savings on to you and me right – WRONG! It could take weeks or even MONTHS after a cut to see any savings at the consumer level. So why do the markets get so active after an FOMC announcement?

The BIG boys are the ones who really move the market right (and they CAN line up at the FED window for a bailout). We just want a small slice of it. That’s all. Remember that when you are trading (or practicing the FED move trade -after an FOMC announcement).

So how do you cash in on the bailouts without getting a slice of the pie? Index trading! With all these bailout moves, the FED buying stock and giving away billions of dollars, it has caused some GREAT moves in the market. Not so good for stock traders, but Wonderful for those of us that just trade and follow the overall index.

No matter what happens, we can all do well with Simple Mini-Dow Index Trading. I look for GREAT times ahead for Index traders. We might have to pay more for the things we need, (because of the FED printing out bailout money like candy these days) but at least we can stay home and earn the money to get them!

Remember those FOMC announcements mentioned earlier? Many times after an announcement, the market moves and moves BIG. Much like the market moves we have all been seeing here lately with the bailout manipulation of the markets. The FED won’t give you a partnership deal like FedEx was looking for, but you can capitalize on their dealings.

Just follow an index and stay away from stock!

While there are many different types of investments that one can make, there are really only three specific investment styles – and those three styles tie in with your risk tolerance. The three investment styles are conservative, moderate, and aggressive. Knowing what your risk tolerance and investment style are will help you choose investments more wisely.

Naturally, if you find that you have a low tolerance for risk, your investment style will most likely be conservative or moderate at best. If you have a high tolerance for risk, you will most likely be a moderate or aggressive investor. At the same time, your financial goals will also determine what style of investing you use.

If you are saving for retirement in your early twenties, you should use a conservative or moderate style of investing – but if you are trying to get together the funds to buy a home in the next year or two, you would want to use an aggressive style.

Conservative investors want to maintain their initial investment. In other words, if they invest $5000 they want to be sure that they will get their initial $5000 back.

Many moderate investors invest 50% of their investment funds in safe or conservative investments, and invest the remainder in riskier investments. A moderate investor usually invests much like a conservative investor, but will use a portion of their investment funds for higher risk investments.

An aggressive investor is willing to take risks that other investors won’t take. They invest higher amounts of money in riskier ventures in the hopes of achieving larger returns – either over time or in a short amount of time. Aggressive investors often have all or most of their investment funds tied up in the stock market.

Again, determining what style of investing you will use will be determined by your financial goals and your risk tolerance. No matter what type of investing you do, however, you should carefully research that investment.

The penny stock market is a roller coaster. One moment your up and the next thing you’re down. And the best part is that the excitement doesn’t stop. That is if that’s how you prefer to see it. Despite the risks being warned by many, you can still end the day with the best penny stock deal in the market. Because the best deal require knowing the best options. There will always be a way around it.

Before you jump into the penny stock bandwagon, it is important to prepare yourself. This is an investment you are dealing with. There will always be risks and loopholes. Mistakes will be made. The price to get the best penny stock deal may not come easy. But there are easy reminders to keep you on track. Here goes.

- Maintain a positive view. You bring your money into the challenge and this can be disturbing. Especially when you sense that your stocks are falling. Stay light with your views and stay alert. Your positive attitude can always help you make better decisions for your penny shares in the end.

- Learn the loops of the trade. This is very basic and elementary. There are secrets in stock buying. But opening your mind to learning can be one of your best weapons. A best penny stock deal doesn’t come in a silver platter. You have to work for it. Understand the trends and the companies. Keep track of those who are consistent in the list. Most of all, learn the pricing changes.

- Don’t be afraid to consult others. There are many avenues to do this. In the internet alone, there are penny stock forums, message boards, and blogs that you can get insights from. If you can afford to subscribe to small caps newsletters, then do it. The best penny stock tomorrow may just be in the list. These are paid subscriptions so it safe to assume that it could be worth your money.

- Understand what you are getting into. Another way of saying it is to calculate your risks. Don’t invest too much of what you have. A sound advice would be to keep it to a maximum of ten percent of your basic funds. If you have extra, the better. Just don’t over invest. You may lose all of them.

- Learn about the key players and their language. Aside from the basic buy-and-sell stock exchange concept, there are other stuffs to know. The role players are the stock broker, day traders, SEC, NYSE, NASDAQ, and more. Then there are some terms. There’s the bull and the bear. There’s the pump-and-dump. Learn and understand them.

- Experience will be your best mentor. Just like a roller coaster, the first ride is scary. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll understand the highs and lows. Later on, you will know how, when, and what to anticipate. The key to winning the best penny stock is to never stop learning. Broaden your knowledge of the business. Keep a wise buy scheme always. The truth is, the penny stock business is not as easy as you think. Just keep your reminders easy to remember. Your last reminder must be to always learn from experience.

With the stock market, the currency traders are the vampires of the Stock Market. Their work day begins in the wee hours of the night and ends often times at the break of dawn. The commodity traders check headlines all over the world in order to determine how the volatile futures market is going to play out for the day. If there is a natural disaster that impacts a commodity the commodity trader needs to take note. The commodity trader needs to factor in significant and sometimes obscure news events that may spur on or decrease the availability of a commodity. The commodity trader is a news junkie.

Stock analysts determine stocks based on graphs, moving averages and mathematical formulas the strategy for their investors. The analyst takes into account not only market news, but the probabilities of certain events impact on a unit or the entire market. The analyst is in many ways like the fortune teller at the circus with a crystal ball armed with a Hewlett-Packard hand calculator.

The stock pickers

On the stock picker, company brand products did not become staples in most homes because of clever packaging and cute commercials. The brands we as consumers rely on are on shopping list because the particular product is tried and true to its word. The household purchaser can make or break a product. The true clout of the American consumer is not to be underestimated in the Stock Market.

The idea of you as the consumer being the best stock picker extends to larger items. You spent some time looking for an automobile, washing machine, refrigerator and like items. You chose a particular brand for a reason. The factors could be value, reliability or your past experiences. The reason could be a combination of all factors mentioned above. Value your decision process and consider investing in the company that produces the product.

The blue chip stocks

Blue Chip Stocks are quality stocks that have a proven track record. A Blue Chip stock is like a member of the family in the American pastoral landscape. The Blue Chip stock makes toilet paper, laundry soap, aluminum, steel , washing machines and just about every well known brand we used every day The Blue Chip stock is Bank of America, U.S. Steel, Proctor & Gamble and others we think of as being our companies.

There are index funds of Blue Chip stocks that can be bought through a financial brokerage house. There are mutual funds that are designated as Blue Chip Funds in most family of funds offered in all of the major mutual funds companies. There is even a mutual fund company that offers a spider fund comprised of Blue Chip stocks that is similar to the S& P 500.

With the Blue Chip stocks, merit a good review in all times just like any type of investment, not just in times of market uncertainty.
