A Story About Signature Loans for People with Bad Credit
Posted by: | CommentsI can think of fifty or seventy-five reasons a person might need to take borrow some cash for a short period of time. Think through this scenario – it’s April 5th, and in just ten short days the government is going to be looking for a rather large check in the mail from you. Your previous fiscal year went better than expected, which is turning out to be both a blessing and a curse now that you’re staring at your obscenely large tax burden.
So you owe the government some money, and you have one big problem – you spent all your cash reserves (which were supposed to take the fear out of tax day) on a trip to everyone’s favorite gambling town in Nevada. You’re wishing the government were in favor of such trips, so they’d give you a break on your bill, but no such luck. Yeah, right – it’s either pay the bill or pay the interest and penalties.
A lack of cash isn’t the only problem you have to resolve before you can pay off the Feds – you’re also facing your poor credit history. Remember when you purchased an almost new Ford truck because they were having a year-end blowout sale? You borrowed the money for the truck even when you knew you’d have no real ability to keep up with the large monthly payments, and not much time had gone by before the truck had to be repossessed.
You have yourself in a serious quandary – how are you going to get the government’s money to them when you have no cash and really bad credit? There is an answer, although it’s not ideal. Certain types of lenders will give you a signature loan for people with really bad credit.
What exactly is a signature loan? You go to your local bank, fill out their forms, smile, shake their hands, and head home with a wad of cash to help you survive tax day. It’s an uncomplicated process, but their going to want more than a big smile from you if they’re going to give you the money.
The first requirement your prospective lender will be looking for is a steady income. They won’t mind your terrible credit as much if you can show them your earnings will easily cover the repayment of their funds. There are a number of ways to verify your income, including canceled paychecks, check stubs, or last year’s tax forms.
And what about collateral? Collateral is defined as some valuable article the lender could sell on the open market if the borrower decided not to fulfill the obligations of the loan. It’s a classic risk-minimizing tool for banks who want to be able to recover all or part of their lost money when they loan to flaky people. Be careful – if you use something you actually care about for collateral, you run the serious risk of losing your valued item.
If you can convince the bank you’re not a major loan risk, you’ll end up getting the loan and surviving the day. Next time you should probably be more prudent about the use of your emergency cash reserves and your tax planning. Don’t let your financial situation become a vicious cycle!

How To Dispute Experian
Posted by: | CommentsTo file a dispute with Experian credit bureau you must write a dispute letter. When they receive your dispute letter they will investigate the disputed listing.
The first step though is to get a copy of your credit report. You can get a free credit report once a year from each credit bureau. I suggest you go to annual credit report, they will provide you with your free copy.
Once you have received your credit report you need to identify what marks are incorrect. These are going to be the marks that you will dispute.
You will dispute the items by creating your dispute letter and mailing it to Experian credit bureau. Once they receive your letter they will determine if it is valid or invalid.
If they find your letter invalid you will receive a letter from them asking for more details about the dispute. You should respond accordingly and provide them with the information.
If your dispute is valid then an investigation will be held into the mark. In an investigation the bureaus will contact the business that made the negative mark on your report and ask them to verify the debt, the dates and the balance.
It has been found that investigations will often result in a listing being removed. This is a result of many businesses being unwilling to spend the resources verifying disputed debts.
A credit repair service can also be hired to remove negative credit from your report. With this option you only need to identify the marks you wish to dispute and the service will do the rest.
In case an item is verified then a credit repair service can be very helpful because they have advanced dispute techniques. These include; creditor direct intervention, escalated dispute information requests, and debt validation.
If you only have minor damage on your report then I suggest repairing your credit yourself. However if you have multiple negative marks on your report I suggest a service. They can also help getting a valid dispute submitted to the bureaus.
Be aware that you must send a dispute letter to each credit bureau. If you do not you may remove a negative mark from your Experian credit report however this mark will still be on your Equifax and Transunion credit report.
In sum you can dispute Experian and have them remove negative credit from your credit report. You must either hire a service or dispute the listings yourself.

Create an Achievable “Get Out of Debt” Plan
Posted by: | CommentsIf you’re faced with a great amount of debt, you likely want to get rid of it as quickly as you can. The cost of interest can really add up. As well, if you already have a lot of debt, it becomes difficult or even impossible to take on more debt for anything you really need. The important thing to remember is not to panic when you are in this situation.
It is in your best interest to try to get out of debt on your own if possible. Many people make the error of assuming they can pay off their debt really quick. They go ahead and set goals that aren’t realistic, and when they can’t reach them they get discouraged or give up. Many end up filing bankruptcy, because they feel there is no other hope for them.
You need to be realistic with your plans. Sit down and make a very thorough budget, including all of your monthly expenses. You then need to determine what you can live without, and take that money you save and put towards paying off your bills. The following are some things you can look at cutting out of your spending:
Eating out- this is a major expense for many people. Evaluate how many lunches you’re buying at work, how often you eat out with friends, etc. Make your lunches at home and bring them to work. Have dinner out with friends less often, perhaps only once a month. You might even be able to suggest something with friends that is less expensive that you can do together, or have a potluck at home.
* Vices. Cigarettes, lattes, and other things we buy as a matter of habit are good places to cut back. Quitting smoking is good for you anyway, and switching to regular coffee, made at home with some flavored creamer, would be less expensive. Every little bit helps.
* Entertainment. No one’s saying that you have to sit at home and be bored all of the time. Just examine your entertainment budget and see if there are ways you could cut back. If you rent a lot of movies, for example, consider signing up for an unlimited plan.
* Travel. With gas prices usually going up instead of down, cutting back on travel can be a real money saver. Carpooling, and combining trips as much as possible, are two ways that can save you a substantial amount of money on travel.
Depending on how much debt you have and what you can pay toward it, it may take many months or even years to pay off your debt. Keeping making more than the minimum payments each month, and you will find yourself making progress. Importantly, make your payments on time each month to keep your credit in good standing. With a little patience and hard work, you will find yourself someday to be free of debt.
